GENDER SENSITIVE RISK MANAGEMENT
DEH believes in equal opportunities for men and women. For example men and women have equal membership and employment rights within the organization. It also recognizes the differences between different gender groups in society (men, women, youth, and elderly), the need to apply different approaches for different gender groups, and harnessing different capacities for sustainable development. It supports and empowers weaker gender groups (for instance through target-oriented micro loans). Of particular interest is gender-differentiated exposure to multiple forms of risk fueled by rapid climate. DEH fosters a strong research and development thrust on gender based risk management.
